Lucy

Lucy 12 Y.O. Registered Quarter Horse, 15hh Red Chestnut Mare, Lucy is not broke to ride. Lucy has a spinal condition known as “kissing Spine” making her unable to be ridden. Lucy loves people, other horses and is a beautiful specimen of the halter show horse line that she came from. Lucy was rescued in 2014 from a case in Hampshire Il., along with over seventy five other horses. Lucy had not been handled in years, and as a result she was terrified to be haltered, lead, touched by a human hand or leave her stall, where she had been locked away in darkness for over two years. Lucy now loves people, places and pasture…

Jackson

Jackson 12 Y.O. Miniature Horse. 34 inches tall. Red Chestnut gelding. As an outstanding member of the children and adults education program Jackson stands a whopping 34 inches at the whithers. This friendly little HARPS ambassador is the smallest resident on the farm, yet worth his weight in gold as he reaches out to the public on a regular bases to bring a smile to everyone’s face that he comes in contact with. His best friend is Duncan the donkey…anytime Duncan is out of sight our little Jackson has a whinny that no one can resist … over and over he calls until Duncan is back in sight. Jackson was donated to HARPS for our education program.

Duncan

Duncan 10 Y.O. Caecilian Donkey approximately 40 inches tall. Male gelded donkey (referred to as a “John”). Little Duncan the donkey landed on HARPS door in December of 2017 just in time for Christmas. Feet curled up from lack of trimming, shy and uninterested in people touching him or getting close, and still a Jack (not yet gelded) this untrusting little fella now is accepting of attention, brushing and love, especially from Children. Duncan is part of HARPS resident program for education on differing members of the horse family (Equidae) and he is best friend to Jackson the miniature horse.

Beau

Beau 15 Y.O. Miniature Horse. 37 inches tall. Grey Gelding … cute adorable , loves kids and being brushed. Rescued by HARPS, Beau was unable to walk due to horribly overgrown feet. Today back on track Beau runs and romps in the field with his two small buddies Duncan the donkey and Jackson the other miniature horse. Beau is part of the kids and ponies program… he loves attention from the little ones and will stand all day for photos and a good brushing!
